As one of our dentists, Dr. Hempen really enjoys being able to work directly with her hands in the dental office, tackle new challenges as they arise throughout each day, and (most importantly) develop meaningful relationships with both her patients and the other team members! Dr. Hempen chose dentistry as her career because she wanted to work in a diverse field where she would be able to not only health patients tackle health-related problems, but also boost their self-esteem through an improved smile. She loves her position today and looks forward to many more years of it!
After completing her undergraduate degree at Wartburg College, Dr. Hempen pursued her dental doctorate at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Hempen is happily married to her husband Scott; they first met while both attending Wartburg. When she isn’t busy caring for patients at Hyland Dental, you can typically find her and Scott traveling together, golfing, or playing various games in their yard.
